Isobel Lodge

It is with very deep regret that we have to announce the sudden and very untimely death of Isobel Lodge, who passed away on the night of Monday 25th April this year.

Isobel did an immense amount for our Club and for gardens and gardening in Colinton. She served on the Committee as secretary for six years and went on to take over the Chair and served for another six years. She contributed an enormous amount to making our CGC – Colinton Garden Club – what it is today.Isobel

She also helped to establish the Colinton Primary After School Garden Club, she helped with the Long Steps project and she worked tirelessly to save the National Trust Suntrap Garden.

Her Christmas Pantomimes for the Garden Club Christmas Party were legendary. She will be sorely missed.

Isobel was buried at a private ceremony at Tyninghame Green Burial Ground on Friday, 6th May.

There will be a Memorial Service at Dreghorn Loan Hall on Sunday 15th May at 7.30pm with some eulogies and music.  All Members are invited to attend.
