Colinton
Garden Club was established 25 years ago, and prospering today, exists to
enable members to share their love of the natural environment. Our aim is
to enable members to share their love of gardening and gardens and to work
together in preserving and adding value to our quality of life.
COLINTON and its neighbouring suburbs, bordering the Pentland Hills, and encompassing the Water of Leith is an exceptionally beautiful area of Edinburgh, with picturesque avenues, houses, gardens and facilities.

Our Services...Our established and much valued implement loan scheme (including a heavy duty scarifyer to get out that famous Pentland moss from your lawn), will prepare the way for our discounted fertiliser service delivered to your door. We also offer discounted goods and services. Library books on loan at monthly meetings, gardening videos, personal advice.... all these repay your modest annual subscription many times over. Why hesitate? Our Social Activities...Members’ Open Gardens - a social morning (including coffee and plant sale) visiting parts of Colinton you may not usually reach (very popular), Outings including copious refreshments, and the fabulous Christmas Party where the fun is only limited by the ingenuity of the members.... come along! |
We meet once a month, from September to April, usually on the fourth Monday,
at 8.00pm in Dreghorn
Loan Hall. The evening consists of a talk
by an expert preceded by an opportunity to socialise usually round the book
and video table. Afterwards, members can ask questions of the speaker,
formally, or informally during coffee time.
A cup of tea or coffee enables members to engage in relaxed discussion and exchange ideas in a friendly atmosphere.
The club is as strong as its members, which is why we welcome new blood, new ideas and new insights.
The annual subscription to the Colinton Garden Club is currently £6 per garden, due at the beginning of each session. This represents massive value and supports our community. We hope you will join us and play your part in our activities. New members are made very welcome, and we encourage you to make yourself known to a member of the committee on your first visit. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact us or complete the membership form.
The February Newsletter is now available both to view and to print (04/02/2012). Spring Fertiliser Orders should be sent in by 27th February (04/02/2012). The Christmas Party was a great success - see some pictures to remind you (16/12/2011).
