| The first garden we visited is Portmore near Peebles, and it has stunning double herbaceous borders in shades of purple, an ornamental vegetable garden, a herb garden, a shrub rose garden and parterre, as well as a greenhouse with a Victorian grotto. | |

| The second garden near Biggar has a collection of old-fashioned and new roses, a traditional walled garden, a Japanese garden and pools. | |

Each year members of the club volunteer to open their gardens for other members to visit. Thanks to all those who took part this year. There were five gardens open, all beautiful and interesting. Click on a small picture below to see it full size. |
| The Open Gardens day is a social event, with plant sales, coffee and teas and a chance to meet other members. |  |
